The total synonymation of this taxon to
Scabiosa columbaria L. in Flora Europaea is seemingly a
total exaggeration. Scabiosa banatica Waldst. et Kit.
has a very different flower color (which is constant),
different leaves and is a very tall (usually 1 - 1,50m) and very branched plant
(in contrast to the usually simple short stems of Scabiosa
columbaria L.)
