Flora Europaea the Linnean original specimen (typical species); even from this comparison it can be seen that the total synonimation of banatica and columbaria is not realistic. perennial, H mesic, petrophile and saxicole, upper nemoral belt north-western Balkan-Dacian Stipio pulcherrimae-Festucetalia pallentis, Seslerion rigidae, Tilio-Acerion, Quercetalia pubescentis (if saxicole) R3401-3403, R62, R4117, R3460-3462 (on rocks) habitats     The total synonymation of this taxon to Scabiosa columbaria L. in Flora Europaea is seemingly a total exaggeration. Scabiosa banatica Waldst. et Kit. has a very different flower color (which is constant), different leaves and is a very tall (usually 1 - 1,50m) and very branched plant (in contrast to the usually simple short stems of Scabiosa columbaria L.)
